CEO Gaither Stephens to Speak in New York State
Gaither Dynamic ·
This October, I’ll be joining Person Centered Housing Options for their Annual Conference, eRacing the Shades: Confronting Housing Inequities, held October 16–17 at the RIT Inn and Conference Center in Rochester, NY.
I’m honored to be presenting two sessions that get to the heart of how data can drive equity and accountability in our homelessness systems:
- Race, Rent, and Power — This session dives into the racial inequities embedded in property ownership and landlord-tenant dynamics. I’ll demonstrate how racial equity dashboards and tools such as z-tests can help communities measure disparities and move from assumptions to evidence-based solutions.
- Housing First, Equity Always — This session will explore how to use system flow models to measure homelessness more accurately, while also considering the broader causes of homelessness. I’ll share approaches for balancing performance data with human realities, as well as discuss the urgent climate around arresting and criminalizing people experiencing homelessness.
These conversations matter now more than ever. My goal is to equip communities with tools and insights that don’t just meet compliance needs, but actually help dismantle inequities and build stronger, more just housing systems.
I hope to see you in Rochester this October!
